This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCT chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Writer’s note: I am a Junior at Pforzheimer House, studying English. I am also the Co-President of the Harvard branch of Her Campus, the Harvard Undergraduate BGLTQ+ Business Society (HUBBS), and the Bowling Club. This is an average day for me on Harvard’s campus.

I usually set wake up 40-50 minutes before my class, which usually means it’s almost 11 am by the time that I wake up.

Since I probably stayed up until at least 2 am doing homework and talking to friends the night before, I like to take advantage of the snooze feature on my phone.

If I have time when I wake up, I’ll try to take a shower in our in-suite bathroom, but often one of my roommates will already be in there.

When they get out I brush my teeth before walking to class. Since I live in the Quad, it takes about 15 minutes to get to class. I like to walk to class to get my mind working and appreciate the nice weather when we have it. There’s a cute park called Cambridge Commons that I usually walk through on my way to class.

After a two hour lecture or seminar, I like to stop and get a Matcha latte at Tatte, a café across the street from the Yard. It’s a nice place to do homework and caffeinate.

On homework breaks, I like to edit articles for Her Campus and people watch.

Around three o’clock it’s time for Bowling Club’s trip to a nearby alley. As Co-President and head of social media, I’m always trying to take photos of everyone while they bowl.

And after the bowling is done, I try to talk as many members as I can into joining a group photo, even if it means propping my phone on a car and using a self-timer.

After the trip, we usually take the T back to Harvard Square, often just in time to miss the shuttle to the Quad. There’s not a long wait in between shuttle, maybe fifteen minutes, but usually, I’ll just walk back.

When I get back to my room I will probably try to get working on the next big assignment I have due.

Of course, if I’m lying in bed I might fall asleep instead. If I’m sleepy enough that I think I’ll fall asleep I usually just set a timer on my phone so that I won’t nap for more than 30 minutes.

If it’s a nice day and I don’t think I can stay conscious in my room, I’ll move to the Quad lawn to do homework. I might even run into a friend there. A lot of people like hanging out and doing work on Quad lawn when the weather’s nice.

At some point, my phone will remind me that I have to lead a meeting for HUBBS in an hour. I head to the Yard ASAP to meet my Co-President to plan our agenda. If I have extra time after we create the agenda and before people show up, I’ll keep working on homework.

After the meeting, it’s probably past sunset and getting chilly out, so I probably want to take the shuttle rather than walking back to the Quad. Often I’ll run into a friend at the shuttle stop and join them in their room to do homework.

Around 11 pm I might get a text from a friend about an event going on that night, like Cabot’s Coffee House, with singers and free tea.
