One of the biggest reasons I decided to commit to UCSD was the  absolutely stunning campus. From beautiful views to delicious food, I could not think of a reason why anyone would ever dislike our university. However, there are so many places on campus that I go to on a regular basis that many people are unaware of. So, without further ado, here are some of my top places to go on campus.

  • 1. The Zone- One of the first places I discovered on campus is the Zone. Located in Price Center next to Jamba Juice, the Zone is a student wellness lounge that hosts many events dedicated to improving student wellbeing. I have definitely seen my mental health improve significantly since going to the Zone by participating in various events geared to reducing the stressful life of a college student. Some of my favorite events that I have attended include making lavender lip scrubs, aromatherapy stress balls, destress Mondays, and an embroidery class. If you have a break in between your classes, go ahead and stop by the Zone to participate in these completely free activities.
  • 2. The Deck on the Second Floor of The Rady School of Management- Whenever I want a quiet place away from the large number of students on campus, I head to the Rady School of Management. On the second floor of the building, there is a deck outside with tables for a relaxing place to study. The best part of going here is the incredible view of the ocean.
  • 3. Lemongrass in Price Center- Price Center is full of a lot of great quick food options, but if you haven’t tried Lemongrass yet, you are truly missing out. Lemongrass features Thai Fusion cuisine where you get to build your own bowl with veggies, protein, a base, and sauce. My personal favorite custom bowl is pad thai, chicken fried rice, grilled tofu, bok choy, curry, and peanut sauce. You have to give Lemongrass a try if you need a quick bite to eat. While you are in the area, also stop by Tapioca Express for a boba which pairs perfectly with Lemongrass!
  • 4. The Fifth Floor of The Arts and Humanities Building in Sixth College (and just Sixth College in general)- For another great view, head up to the fifth floor of the Arts and Humanities Building in Sixth College. It is a great study spot and the location is very central to many class locations. It is also close to some of my other favorite places in Sixth College, such as the Craft Center, Makai, and Sixth Market.
