College students often eat ramen because it’s cheap and easy to make, but maybe you’ve gotten sick of those high sodium instant noodles. A bowl of pasta can just as easily be made without pots, pans, or a strainer. You’ll need access to a microwave, a microwave-safe container, pasta, water, and a sauce of your choice. Start by pouring the pasta and water in the microwave-safe container. The water should cover the pasta completely.

Leave the container in the microwave for 3 more minutes than the suggested cooking time. For the pasta I used, the suggested cooking time was 8 minutes so I left the container in the microwave for 11 minutes. Take the container out every few minutes to stir.

Once your pasta is fully cooked, lightly place a lid or plate over the container. Hold the lid and container together as you slowly tilt them, allowing the water to drain out.

Mix in your sauce and add cheese or herbs to make your meal a little more extravagant. Bon appetit!
