16 Thoughts Everyone Has When Changing Their Profile Picture

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

1. When facebook notifies you that it’s about time to change your profile picture, but you’re just not ready for that commitment.

2. Then you begin to notice your friends are stepping up their profile game.

3. So, you get peer pressured into doing the same.

4. Until you realize professional, high quality pictures are in trend and you don’t have you’re own professional photographer.

5. Then you go through the entire dilemma of whether you should do a selfie or a candid.

6. Once you choose the absolute perfect photo that you’re sure will do…

7. …You now stress about what witty and funny caption will complement your masterpiece.

8. After everything is set to upload, you must make sure you are uploading during a time where people are online to acknowledge your new step in life (1pm – 4pm on weekdays).

9. Then go through your existential crisis as it is uploading.

10. When you receive your first like from your best friend:

11. When you recieve a like from a facebook friend you don’t really know in real life, but suddenly find a newfound appreciation for them:

12. When you know all you’re going to be doing for the rest of the day is checking your facebook likes, instead of being a productive human of society.

13. That feeling when you exceed your previous profile picture like count.

14. This success leads you to start casually looking at your previous profile pictures and silently judge your previous life choices.

15. But then you feel refreshed about turning over a new leaf.

16. And get that boost in self-esteem and confidence you needed to finish the rest of the week.
