My Take On Kendall Jenner’s Daily Diet And Workout Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Kendall has said it once and I’ll say it again, “I get really mean or emotional if I don’t have food in my system.” As an avid KUWTK (Keeping Up With The Kardashians) watcher, I always found Kendall’s diet most similar to mine. She always seems healthy and lean as a normal supermodel would, but also her need for a sweet treat or greasy slice of pizza was too relatable. As an intrigued individual does, I set out to eat and be active like Miss Jenner herself for a day!

Kendall says that she starts her day off with a workout because it makes her more productive and awake for the rest of the day, which is honestly SO relatable. She tends to take on workout classes such as kickboxing and hot yoga, white also doing resistance and ab exercises with a personal trainer. Her preference of resistance training over aerobic exercises (such as running) is something Kendall and I won’t agree with, but we can move past that. As an average civilian, I don’t have a personal trainer on standby so I decided to go to 7AM. hot yoga to channel my inner supermodel. I figured this would be a good form of resistance training too since I was using my own bodyweight for strength. I definitely underestimated hot yoga because that class had me winded by the end. I’ll stick to running, but it was nice to change up my normal workout routine. I think Kendall deserves a 8/10 on the workout since it was unique, but just not practical for me.

Her breakfast is quite simple yet hefty and will keep you full for a while. The start to the morning consists of avocado over eggs and a warm bowl of oatmeal. Of course for her drink of choice she has a cup of detox tea, which she drinks about twelve times a day (I couldn’t keep up and only drank this one cup). Personally, avocado and scrambled eggs are my ideal breakfast that I never get sick of, but the bowl of oatmeal just felt kind of a weird combination. I was so full from the fiber-filled oatmeal that I couldn’t finish my favorite part of the meal! Also, the detox tea just tasted like grass, but not in a good way like matcha. Overall breakfast gets a 7/10 from me; I think she could amp it up by just doing eggs and avocado with toast and a good coffee (not to be biased toward my own go-to breakfast).

Onto lunch! Around 2PM is when I actually started to get hungry after that feast of a breakfast, but when the time rolled around I was ready to make Kendall’s tried and true chicken veggie rice bowl. She normally just chops up some grilled chicken, throws it over a bowl of steamed brown rice, and adds in her veggies of choice. This simple but delicious concoction was definitely the star of her meals. It literally took me like 10 minutes to grill a piece of chicken, steam some broccoli, and microwave some brown rice from the night before. There’s also so many ways to switch this meal up so that you don’t get sick of it, like substituting all sorts of veggies or seasoning the chicken differently each time. Kenny gets a 10/10 for lunch from me!

As a snack Kendall said she enjoys vegetables and hummus (a personal favorite), chips and guac, and Justin’s peanut butter cups. All of these are solid snack suggestions, but I was mostly feeling like carrots and hummus around 5PM so that’s what I opted for. Luckily I know how to cut vegetables, unlike Kendall, so this snack was super easy to make. I think I’ve noticed that Kendall is very safe with what she eats and I’m totally here for it! Snacks get a 9/10 from me; could be a little less basic, Kendall.

For the grand finale was dinner! There’s so many different options that Kendall has for dinner it was difficult to choose. However, I was with a group of people and wasn’t about to make a fuss about what to eat so NATURALLY I chose pizza. Unfortunately, I don’t live near Kendall’s fave Italian restaurant Craig’s, so I went to my go-to local place called Marcello’s. Of course I had to get Kendall’s iconic margherita pizza to end the day of living like a supermodel. I love a good pizza, but I like some protein on it, so I have to give Kendall a 7/10 on this meal.

Kendall is displayed as such a chill person through the media, but it is surely reflected through her diet and workouts, too. Her meals were easy to follow and flexible, which are always ideal, and her workouts are challenging yet still enjoyable. Kendall Jenner is not your average person in her occupation and upbringing, but I appreciate that an ordinary person like myself can easily copy her lifestyle choices for a day. I wonder if she forces Benito (aka Bad Bunny) to follow this routine too. I think that I could follow this diet and exercise routine daily, so for that I’ll give Miss Jenner a 9/10!
