Girls’ Night Needs Catering? Call Up Prince of Venice

Updated Published
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

On a rare, rainy Los Angeles night, the Her Campus at UCLA girls settled into our cozy Airbnb for a delayed Galentine’s retreat. Painting wine glasses with flowers, watching cute rom-coms, chatting until the wee hours – HC at UCLA knows how to have a girls’ night. But a night like this is nothing without the right dinner. And lucky for us, Prince of Venice was catering.

A wonderful Italian restaurant tucked away in Westwood, Prince of Venice knows its pizza and pasta. They set us up with gooey cheese and pepperoni pizzas and a huge platter of tomato rigatoni pasta. The scent of Italian goodness filled the house, drawing everyone to the kitchen. We flocked to the food, piling our plates high, coming back for seconds (and, in my case, thirds).

Prince of Venice’s food is ideal for a large social gathering. Not only is it filling and delicious, but it’s easy to serve and divide up. This is not the first time they’ve catered for us, and every time is a hit. The food feels homemade, helping to create the comfortable environment we were hoping to create with the retreat. We were able to chat, bond, and connect, and the tasty food played a large part in making us feel together and at home.

Sometimes, it’s important to kick back, relax, and treat yourself to a some major carbs. A girls’ night is incomplete without a truly satisfying, slightly indulgent meal. Being able to enjoy good food with good company is a simple pleasure that I truly appreciated on the night of our retreat. I’m officially setting a mid-March resolution to have more indulgent Italian meals like this one and to seek out these simple-pleasure moments as often as I can.

The next time you’re looking for a meal in Westwood, perhaps on a Friday night with your girls, look no further than Prince of Venice. It works for a date night, for a group gathering, or just to treat yourself once you’ve finished with these hectic winter quarter finals. They managed to get me out of my head and into my stomach for a night (in a good way!), and they can definitely do the same for you.
