HC At UCLA’s Amazing End-Of-Year Banquet: Pics, Presents and Pizzas & Pastas From Prince of Venice

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

If something is capable of luring dozens of college girls out to Wilson Plaza on Friday of Week 10, you know that it’s good. Nothing can brighten the overwhelming stress of finals week and burnout like dressing up in cute outfits, taking a bunch of group photos and feasting on some much-needed non-dining hall food. HC at UCLA’s end-of-year banquet would have been incomplete without Prince of Venice’s divine catering: their fresh handmade pasta and pizzas had people passing by straining their necks to see where the mouth-watering scent was coming from.

Prince of Venice sent over so much food for all our members to enjoy, including four trays of pasta (two being vegan-friendly) and three kinds of pizza. We loved having the Margherita and pepperoni pizzas for the classic options and the Romana alle Patate pizza for a more unique one. The Pomodoro pasta was packed with a bright fresh flavor with a slight tang from the tomatoes. The bolognese was covered with sauce, beef and cheese, making each bite absolutely perfect. The variety of dishes meant all the members had something to enjoy without any dietary concerns. Needless to say, there was a lot of collective gasping, excited shuffling and members excusing themselves to get second servings.

After trying a scoop and slice of everything, I’d say my favorite had to be the Romana alle Patate pizza. Prince of Venice describes it as a “white pizza in light garlic sauce with oven-roasted potatoes and mozzarella.” Personally, this was my first time having garlic sauce and potatoes on a pizza but I loved the texture of the thin potato slices. Our future Editor-In-Chief Alyana raved about the Pomodoro sauce, mentioning how “wonderfully tomato-y” it tasted. Even the pasta itself was cooked to perfection which is so impressive for catered food. It was great to see the members sitting on picnic blankets, eating and laughing while talking about the past year. It may have been that the delectable pasta and pizza had me feeling a little emotional, but I swear the campus looked extra beautiful for our banquet.

I had so much fun catching up with the members while fueling my body and mind. The banquet was the perfect way to wrap up the year, celebrate our chapter’s accomplishments and of course, congratulate our graduating seniors. To the team at Prince of Venice, thank you so much for making our banquet the best-tasting one yet!
