My Brutally Honest (And Not Sponsored) Review Of Bloom Greens Powder

I don’t know about you, but Bloom Super Greens have an absolute chokehold on all of my social media algorithms. Almost daily, I see a new influencer claiming that the drink has changed their life — they never get bloated anymore, have more energy and miraculously lost ten pounds in one week. Yet, I could never find one without the “Sponsored” tag, so I was reluctant to believe any of the information they fed me. But after being gifted the supplement by a friend and trying it out for three weeks, here are my personal thoughts free of sponsorship, allegiance or bias:

The price

For 30 servings of Bloom, you’ll put a $40 dent in your bank account. Although this brings the supplement to around $1.33 per serving each day, $40 still seems a steep price to me. However, many of its other competitors such as Kiala or AG1 will cost you even more. Overall, greens powders are an expensive supplement, and Bloom is actually one of the more affordable brands on the market.

What’s even in it?

Bloom claims their greens are full of pre and probiotics, fiber, antioxidants, digestive enzymes and, of course, a super green blend. However, when looking at the actual quantities of each of the listed ingredients, there is not a significant amount of any in their product. For example, for a product that claims to be a fiber supplement, the nutrition label reveals that one serving only yields two grams of fiber or just 7% of your daily recommended intake. Consider me dubious.

The taste

Bloom offers five flavors of greens and adds stevia to many of them, which definitely helps mask the earthy taste. Personally, I’ve only tried the mixed berry flavor. I found it tolerable but not particularly enjoyable. I certainly don’t wake up craving it, like many influencers claim to (eye roll).

The texture

I’ve found the greens to be grainy and difficult to mix fully without the electric spinner that I refuse to buy out of principle. Therefore, I will continue to whirl my metal straw around at warp speed in angst, protesting the absurdity of forking over another $13.99 after already paying $40 for a tub of green powder. I will die on this hill.

Does it really help me debloat?

For me, the simple answer is no. Although I really, really wanted this to be my miracle solution to digestive issues and chronic bloating, I can’t say that anything changed after taking Bloom. This being said, nothing worsened either. It was a pretty neutral digestive experience.

does it make me feel more energized?

As a girl who idolizes her morning coffee routine, I can’t say that I’ll be swapping it out for a morning Bloom routine anytime soon. I noticed no difference in my energy levels while drinking the supplement.

would I recommend Bloom to a friend?

Overall, no I don’t think I’d recommend Bloom to a friend (i.e. you, because girls with stomach issues need to stick together, and I’ve decided we’re best friends now). Truthfully, I noticed no difference while taking the supplement and therefore can’t justify the taste or price.

Overall, I really wanted Bloom to work for me. I went into the trial experience with a positive and optimistic attitude, at least hoping that the placebo would placebo and do its thing. But unfortunately, my optimism was short-lived and this was not the case. Before trying Bloom, I already ate a diet of mostly leafy greens, greek yogurt, lean protein and fiber-rich foods. If these things are not already a part of your regular diet, then you may have a different experience and feel more notable changes with Bloom. Regardless, if you’re at all interested I encourage you to try Bloom and decide for yourself! Everyone’s body is different; what works for me might not work for you, and vice versa!
