Iced latte: the smooth, bold elixir that wakes us up and starts our day. The iced latte grew in popularity in San Francisco in the 1980s as a spin-off of the classic drink developed in Italy.

Tiramisu: the creamy, decadent Italian dessert that is both rich and light. This dessert dates back to the 1960s, when Italians created it as an easy, no-bake dessert.

But what if we combined these two beloved classics?

Somewhere between the assignments I have had to submit, the articles due at midnight, and the multitude of emails I’ve had to respond to as I’ve begun my sophomore year, I found time to discover the most delicious beverage. Some may call this stress baking, but I call it finding a passion for the culinary arts.

Tiramisu is currently experiencing a revival. It is now a social media trend, a menu staple, and even a popular wedding cake alternative. Lattes aren’t necessarily slowing down either, making this the perfect fall pick-me-up. All you need is seven ingredients and your favorite album queued (bonus points if it’s a rainy day).

Cold foam

Ingredients:

  • 2 spoonfuls of mascarpone
  • Splash of heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Dash of milk of your choice

Simply froth all of these ingredients together, and you’re already halfway done.

Iced Latte

This part is up for interpretation. Whatever way you prefer an iced latte is fine, but if you need inspiration, here is my go-to.

Ingredients:

  • 1 double shot of espresso
  • Generous amount of milk
  • 2 pumps of vanilla syrup
  • Drizzle of honey
  • Ice

First, fill your cup with the ice and milk, and then pour in your espresso. I recommend pouring the honey into the hot espresso so it can stir nicely into the drink without sticking to the glass. Finally, add vanilla syrup if you want extra sweetness, and you’re all done.

Assemble

Now pour your cold foam over your iced latte, add a straw, and most importantly, enjoy!
