8 Mugs to Match Every Mood During Your Internship This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

School is back in session, and you know what that means! Internships: we love/hate them and most of us need them to gain relevant field experience. I’ve never met a person who hasn’t gone a little crazy during their search for the perfect internship. I’m not talking Cristina-Yang-leaving-her-true-calling-at-Grey-Sloan-Memorial-to-become-a-bartender crazy…but pretty damn close. I hate to break it to you, but once you snag that dream internship, the craziness will only continue to grow. Lucky for you, you can suppress some of it with some much needed caffeine. We all go through a rollercoaster of emotions during our internships, but with the help of gallons of caffeine and cute mood matching mugs, you’ll make it through!

The Search

When searching for an internship, the most important thing you can ask yourself is, “what excites my soul?” Sure, you could land an internship that pays really well, but at the end of the day if the work you’re doing doesn’t add meaning to your life, is it actually worth it? This vibrant mug from SoulPancake is sure to add some much needed fun (and caffeine) to your life as you begin your quest to find the perfect internship.

First Day on the Job

Your employer wants fresh talent that brings something new, creative, and one-of-a-kind to the table. In other words, they want you to be YOU! Keep this simple yet powerful mug from CafePress on your desk as a reminder that you shouldn’t be afraid to take a little risk and show of who you are in your new workplace.

First Big Project

It’s time to get down to business (but not to defeat the Huns). It’s time to tackle your first project…and it’s major. Fear not – you is smart, you is kind, you is important, and you is going to kick some booty! This mug from Urban Outfitters isn’t underestimating you, so neither should you. Since it’s so trendy (and accurate), the mug is sold out. Why not make your own and add your own flair?

#NailedIt

*Virtual high five* You just crushed your first major project! Your boss loves you, your coworkers wanna be you, and you’re damn proud of yourself. Reward yourself with this mug from Lulu Designs to remind yourself that you’re killin’ it at your new internship because you’re awesome.

Better Luck Next Time…

Sooo, that last project was kind of a doozy and didn’t quite go as planned. Guess what? You’re human. Throw on some Nobody’s Perfect by Hannah Montana, momentarily drown your sorrows with caffeine out of this cute mason jar mug from Etsy, then get back in the game. You got this.

SOS

You’ve surpassed your boss’ expectations, because duh, so now you’re taking on a lot more responsibilities. To top it all off, your exams are sneaking up. Sleep is nonexistent, and you’re straight up overwhelmed. This morning mantra mug from Daisy Natives will make it easier for you to get your coffee fix, rid your life of those bad vibes, and focus on the positive.

Let Freedom Ring

YOU MADE IT. You almost pulled a Cristina Yang, but you made it! You are officially a certified #GirlBoss and deserve to treat yourself to this sweet mug from Etsy to show off on future desks as you move on up in the world.

Reminiscing

Ah, sweet memories. At your internship you heavily caffeinated yourself, you created like no other, and you conquered (almost) every task you were assigned. This mug from Etsy will always remind you of the place that took a chance on you and helped craft you into the #GirlBoss you are today.

Jess Hecht is a senior at UCF studying Human Communication with a Mass Communication concentration. When Jess is not creating content or traveling with her job at Feeding Children Everywhere, you can most likely find her on Pinterest looking at inspirational quotes and photos of dogs, or planning her next trip to Zambia. Some of her favorite pastimes include camping out for hours on end at Barnes & Noble with a reading list longer than the Chipotle line, smelling every candle at Bath & Body Works, and adding to her collection of journals (20 and counting, since you were curious). If binge-watching Lifetime movies was an olympic sport, you best believe that gold medal would have Jess' name written all over it.
