4 Holiday Date Ideas for Friends and Couples

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Finals are over and I have some good news: we can finally enjoy the holidays! But how do you do that? We all know that our image of enjoying the holidays consists of going out with friends or our significant other and doing everything and anything that screams Christmas. Well… this season Saint Nicholas wants you all to visit four date spots that friends and couples can equally enjoy! Here’s to spreading the holiday cheer!

1. Light Up UCF

Your first destination should obviously be Light Up UCF! Our campus offers one of the best seasonal locations to visit during the holidays. Driving past CFE Arena can get you a glimpse of the spectacular light show that is set up surrounding our own ice skating rink! It’s worth a stop if you’re interested in watching the scene unfold around you and even below you as you ride the Ferris wheel and admire the fake snow!

2. Disney Springs

One of the most popular destinations people love during the holidays is Disney Springs. The main attraction is the Christmas Tree Trail! Walking through this pathway you come across extravagantly decorated trees. You’ll see that each tree has a theme coordinating to certain Disney movies. This year while taking a walk through with friends we saw trees decorated with tokens from the movies including Peter Pan, Mulan, Fantasia, Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars and so many more! If you haven’t had enough of all the Christmas cheer here, then go out to the end of the trail and snag a picture with friends just like we did and be sure to visit the year-round Christmas store nearby too!

3. Universal Orlando Resort

Universal offers so much during the holiday season to help spread the cheer! When visiting this theme park you can enjoy a special “Grinchmas” celebration in which you can see a retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas at Islands of Adventure. If you then head on over to Universal Studios you’ll be enchanted by the festive decorations and light show on the Hogwarts castle! One of the most popular attractions has to be the holiday parade that features Macy’s Parade floats, special souvenirs and food to help get you in the spirit for Christmas.

4. Your Home

This may not be your ideal image of a fantastic cheery holiday date scene but it definitely can be! Bake some Christmas cookies, heat up the cocoa, put on your favorite Christmas movie and decorate with your friends or that special someone! It provides a cozy environment for everyone to just relax and wind down. Even after a long day this can keep you in the spirit.

The holidays are a much more enjoyable time when you can spread the cheer with those closest to you. Take a trip to one of these destinations or spend a cozy holiday-filled evening at home and you’ll feel the same Christmas spirit you felt as a child!

Happy Holidays everyone!
