3 Reasons You Should Attend UCF’s Women’s Empowerment Conference

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

At Her Campus UCF, you know we’re all about female empowerment and lifting women up. After all, it’s *kind of* our brand. That’s why we’re so excited about the first-ever Women’s Empowerment Conference hosted by UCF’s Student Government on Monday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The conference is set to take place at the Pegasus Grand Ballroom in the Student Union.

In a promo video for the conference, UCF Ambassador and first lady Katie Seymour said that the conference will feature a lineup of speakers and guests for breakfast, networking and activities to celebrate and empower women.

Um, we are so here for all of it! Our girl gang definitely plans on being there, and here are three reasons why you should attend, too.

Powerful guest speakers

It’s no secret that UCF is home to nearly 70,000 students. According to UCF’s Institutional Knowledge Management interface, more than 55% of the 69,523 students enrolled in the fall 2019 semester were women.

The Women’s Empowerment Conference is highlighting efforts women have made not only in the UCF community but internationally. Notable speakers and attendees include student body Vice President Madeline Mills and UCF Ambassador and first lady, Katie Seymour.

Free food

You can’t fight the patriarchy on an empty stomach, amirite? Well, it’s a good thing the Women’s Empowerment Conference has got you covered with some grub, free of charge. Whether it’s snacks at each vendor’s table or an array of breakfast food, it’s free and we love that.

Sephora Collection’s Big Brow Energy bar

You won’t want to miss this ultimate brow experience, sponsored by UCF’s Sephora Collection Campus Reps and the Women’s Empowerment Conference.

Sephora Collection, Sephora’s in-house beauty and skincare brand, is celebrating the launch of their Big Brow Energy line with an on-campus brow bar. Attendees will get an exclusive look at new Sephora Collection products, score free full-sized products and merchandise for participating and enjoy sweet treats and cute photo ops.

There’s also a chance to be featured on the @SC Instagram page! For more details on that, visit SC’s official Facebook event page and come on out to the Women’s Empowerment Conference to recharge your #BigBrowEnergy!
