Do you ever just feel so drained from the week before? Being a collegiate makes it hard to find time to pamper ourselves. This is why every weekend I make sure that I have time to relax before the next week starts.

First, I start with a warm bath and add bath bombs. My favorite bath bomb right now is the raspberry scented macaroon from LUSH cosmetics. I listen to some cool tunes while my pores are opening up from the heat. Sometimes it may get a bit hot, so I put a cool hand towel on my head. This is my first step because this is the most relaxing part of my weekend. There’s always something about sitting in a tub of water that gets you deep in thought about your future.

Second, I like to use face masks to unclog, exfoliate, and moisturize my pores. Sometimes, I use homemade masks with avocado, honey and olive oil mixed in.  It’s really soothing and less irritant than other store bought formulas with unknown chemicals. I would stick with all-natural if you have sensitive skin.

While I have this face mask on I sometimes add a hair mask for growth and long lasting silky smooth strands.  I do not always do this, since it takes much longer (30 minutes), but when I have time to add this part in, my hair tends to have less split ends. When I skip this step, I like to brush my teeth/floss and use a teeth whitener. With all that coffee during the week, my teeth suffer so much.

During the wait time of the face or hair mask, I like to pluck my eyebrows, do my nails or other things that I haven’t kept up in a while.

It may seem like a lot of pampering for a college student. And you may ask how I have time to accomplish all these things. The trick is to do everything simultaneously! For example, wear the hair mask and face mask while taking a bath. And after the bath, give yourself a mani-pedi, or pluck those unruly brows!

It’s important to take care of ourselves and we still want to feel confident and presentable. Us gals should not let stress take over our lives. Hope this helps ladies!
