Bored? Find a New Hobby!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

Winter quarter is slowly coming to an end, which means activities are dying down. Since parties are few, a sense of boredom may be taking over. Here is a list of fun activities you can try:

Belly Dancing

This can be a great form of exercise, and also help boost your spirit! It’s even better if you can find a friend who is willing to try this with you. Belly dancing will allow the two of you to let loose, be silly, and learn a new skill!

Finding an “Out There” Recipe

Some recipes you encounter online or at a fancy restaurant look intimidating, but they may be easier than you think. I recommend trying a fun dessert recipe like crème brulee.

Play Ping Pong

Ping pong is not only fun; it’s also free on campus. You can join the Ping Pong club, or just gather up some friends and go practice at the Arc Pavilion. There are certain times and days of the week where people can play for fun! Check out their Facebook Page or website for more information.

Go-kart Racing

Go-kart racing can be a very exhilarating activity. Not many people know there are go-kart places near Davis! The closest go-kart racing facility is Blue Max Kart Club. You can contact them at 916-601-9638.

Make a New Instagram for One of Your Hobbies

Do you have a cool hobby you want to share with the world? Whether you like to color, cook vegan meals, do nail art designs, or take beautiful pictures, you can make a new Instagram account that is dedicated to your passion! This will help you connect with others who have similar interests!

My name is Rojan Zarei and I am a second year Managerial Economics major at UC Davis. I've found a passion in getting to know who I am, learning about life, and sharing that with others! What better way to do that than write about what I've learned so others can hopefully benefit from it as well!
