It was recently confirmed that the David Lynch’s 1990-1991 hit TV series, Twin Peaks, will be coming to Showtime with nine new episodes in 2016. Almost 25 years after it originally aired. This remake will hopefully address unanswered questions, such as: “WHAT HAPPENED TO COOP?” and “WHO IS DIANE?”

If you’re like me and were not yet born at the time Twin Peaks originally hit TV sets across the U.S. you can view this wonderfully quirky show in its entirety on Netflix and I highly recommend it. Viewer discretion is definitely advised.

Twin Peaks tells the story of the search for a high school homecoming queen’s murderer and makes viewers wonder who really killed Laura Palmer. Set in the small town of Twin Peaks, Washington where you can treat yourself to the best black coffee and cherry pie on Earth. Lynch takes us on a surreal journey to uncover Laura’s killer and find out what is really going on in this weird, little town.

Twin Peaks features a haunting, original score by the composer Angelo Badalamenti and Lynch’s signature weirdness. At the end of the original series, Laura tells us that she will see us again in 25 years. I guess Lynch is staying true to his word, but let’s hope it’s not as big a flop as the Twin Peaks prequel movie, Fire Walk With Me.

We shall see!
