Lesson #20: Learn to live life to the fullest while you can.

As we enter this ever-evolving stage, awareness is required to navigate this confusing time. For us, right now, superficial things can seem like they’re the face of our entire world—especially as university students. But realizing that these times are moments we won’t get back should take precedence over those superficial things. It’s cliché but for a reason.

Being in our late teen years, early twenties means that we get to branch out, explore, try new things, and have new experiences. With that comes the responsibility of getting to know ourselves and building up for the life ahead, all while being in the moment. It’s a lot of work.

Especially being in a new area like the Bay, I’ve forced myself to try new things and regain my independence in new ways I couldn’t back home. Not letting things affect me as much, prioritizing where I put my energy, and knowing which situations require me to expend the energy and when it requires me to protect my peace have all become the focal point of my journey as a rising senior in college.

This means I learn to love the hustle but also love the times when maybe I shouldn’t take on the extra load and enjoy the peace and quiet. Of course, there will be times when we let life pass us by, but let’s not make that the norm.

To me, and I’m sure many others, this stage of life and the variety of experiences that come with it is simply a stepping stone to becoming the next best version of myself. So, learning to experience the life around me is a key player.
