While binging shows on Netflix late at night, avoiding that one project you should really be getting a jump on, have you ever noticed parallels between the beloved characters and real life? Her Campus certainly has, so we have taken it upon ourselves to assign a Brooklyn 99 character to the UBC faculties.
1. Science: Amy Santiago
The Faculty of Science is built on a foundation of Amy’s most beloved values—smarts, organization, binders, and good grades. Like Amy, Science students can get a bit crazy with the pressure, but they thrive on it.
2. Arts: Gina Linetti
Lofty manner of speech, addicted to manufacturing a social media empire, acts high-and-mighty but works a menial desk job—Gina is your typical Arts student through and through. Don’t get her talking about her spirit animal, and for the sake of all you hold dear don’t cut off her internet!
3. Engineering: Part Adrian Pimento, part Rosa Diaz
…Said the faculty to every innocent high schooler who applies. Odds are you will regret this at some point, most likely several times a week (change that to several times a day during finals season). It won’t be long before you’re rocking Pimento’s signature I-was-just-electrocuted hair and demented eyes.
With so few women in the Engineering program, it’s important to channel the badassery of Rosa as much as possible.
4. Forestry: Jake Peralta
People may consider Forestry, like Jake, to be kind of simple. Joke’s on them, though, because Forestry is full of street smarts (tree smarts? tree smorts?), surprises, and dubious charm.
5. Kinesiology: Terry Jeffords
This gif speaks for itself. Keep it up, Kinesiology.
6. Sauder: Madeline Wuntch
Sauder is made up of self-driven go-getters, with plenty of ambiton and enough the smarts to back it up. Sauderites may make a few enemies along the way, but the fuel of conflict will only make the fire of success burn brighter.
7. Land and Food Systems: Charles Boyle
LFS is what happens when a bunch of foodies decide to take their over-zealous passion for food to the next level, but don’t want to commit to the grind of culinary school. They’re great to be around, and not only because they seem to always know where to get the best eats.
8. Music: Captain Raymond Holt
It can be hard for the Music students to have a steady conversation because spending all day with their heads stuck in a tuba can make it tough to connect with others. Shared musical interests are a thing of the past because their brains have become so over-analytical. It’s just the way they show their passion, and their close friends know it.
