2019 is Actually the Year of Beyoncé

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UAB chapter.

Beyoncé never seems to stop working. Even when you think she’s not working… she is, and she’s probably working on something big. Time and time again Beyoncé has shown the world that she can do anything, and this year she’s doing everything!

We’re only in the fourth month of the year and Beyoncé has made several major boss moves. It’s basically the year of Beyoncé and here’s why.

She’s releasing a Netflix special.

Netflix just announced that a Beyonceé special is coming April 17! The project titled Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé will include behind the scenes footage of her iconic Coachella performance, also known as Beychella. The Beyhive has already been buzzing over the release of the trailer.

She’s partnering with Adidas.

Queen Bey will be relaunching her Ivy Park athletic apparel line through Adidas and also creating a signature collection as the brand’s new creative partner. Beyoncé called the partnership with Adidas the “partnership of a lifetime!” We can’t wait to see what she brings to the table.

She’s starring in The Lion King!

This summer, the new live-action remake of Disney’s The Lion King will hit theaters with Beyoncé starring as the voice of Nala. The film will also feature other celebrity voices such as Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, and Seth Rogen.

Aside from Beyoncé’s upcoming ventures, she has also taken home awards this year already. She received the 2019 Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards with her husband, Jay-Z. Beyoncé also won her second Entertainer of the Year Award at the NAACP Image Awards. There’s no doubt that she’s coming for everything and then some this year, and we’re all hoping that means she’ll be releasing new music too. Although she and her husband released Everything Is Love last year, Yoncé hasn’t had a solo project since 2016.
