Welcome back, lovelies! It’s that time of the year again- the temperature dips a bit lower, school starts back up again, the leaves start changing color, and everything (and I mean everything) is available in the most cherished smell/flavour of all time, pumpkin spice! (#basic but also #notbasic and still #delicious).

With a new season comes new looks y’all, and I thought that I would introduce them to you in the form of our favorite disney princesses.

And so, our story begins!

1)  Graphic Eye Liner as Princess Jasmine

Okay, can we take a second to appreciate those wings? Her eye liner game is way strong! According to Harper’s Bazaar, bold and graphic winged liners have made a comeback. If you haven’t mastered that sharp edged wing yet, don’t worry- the smudged look is in too! Seen on the runways of Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Versace to name a few, both dark rimmed eyes and polished wings struted their stuff right into fall fashion. Here are some examples:

Very ’60s glam if you ask me- I’m thrilled it’s making a come back!

2) Glittery lids and lips as Princess Tiana

I don’t know about you, but I loved the glitz, glam and sparkle of New Orleans in The Princess and the Frog- not to mention Tiana’s spunk and determination! Glitter graced the runways of Tommy Hilfiger and Burberry this year, mostly around the eyes in the form of a shadow or a liner. Glitter lips have even popped up in several beauty circles and used by legendary British MUA Pat McGrath. It isn’t exactly the most easy to apply or easy to wear trend, but Marie Claire has already done an amazing job reviewing what it feels like the wear glitter lips for the day! If you’re feeling brave, you can check it out here!

If you’re feeling a little less adventurous, you can always try a subtle glittery lip liner as shown below:

Pro tip: a really great way to make your eyes pop is to just dab a bit of sparkle on the inner corners of your eyes!

And here we have the infamous glitter lip:

3) Sleek Strands as Princess Ariel

Because, who doesn’t want mermaid hair?!?! Seen on Ashely Graham and Kim K at the VMA’s, sleekly tousled or slicked back strands with some wet shine are in this year, although I’m not quite sure how to achieve it- hair gel maybe? Mousse? I can’t lie, it looks way chic if you ask me.

The one thing I would miss about the summer in the fall? Beach waves for days!

4) Stained Berry Colored Lips as Princess Aurora

Berry lips are in again, collegiettes, and pretty much in any shape or form, from matte, to a stain, to just a hint of it dabbed lightly onto your lips for a bit of color! Feeling a bit on the more gothic side? Try the darkest berry lip color you can find without it being totally black, it will look tres chic mon amis!

okay, who doesn’t love dark lips for fall?

5) A hint of blush as Queen Elsa

If you haven’t been feeling the whole contouring or strobing trend, you’ll love this one- minimalist and simple, you basically just want to look as naturally rosy cheeked as Queen Elsa with just a hint of blush and perhaps just a tad bit of highlight to accentuate your cheekbones! With a crisp Autumn breeze, you may not even need blush!

This is also a perfect way to save a little bit of time in the morning, am I right ladies? So low maintenance!

So there you have it lovelies, some of the fall 2016 beauty trends that we might see on campus this semester! If the transition from Summer to Fall is bumming you out though (I know I’m still in summer mode), let’s just cut out our make up routine all together and go back to sleep like our girl Cinderella:

Kidding! But oh how I wish I wasn’t.

I'm a Shakespeare loving, eyebrow obsessing beauty junkie, who adores all things having to do with Harry Potter, delicious food, and good music. After 4 years I've finally graduated from the oh so wonderful, University of Toronto and am currently working toward a Masters of Information degree.  I'd like to think of myself as a modern day romantic with an unquenchable wanderlust. My current dream is to one day go on an international library hopping adventure! For an aspiring special collections librarian, that is definitely at the top of my list post-graduation. I am a frequent visitor of the ROM and love going see the Nutcracker during the holidays. As a Decemeber baby myself, I absolutely love the winter time, the snow, the holiday cheer, and the half coffee half hot chocolates I get from Timmys. As for music, my likes are pretty much across the board! From John Mayer to Sam Smith, Debussy to Duke Ellington, Xtina to today's pop hits, you'll find me somewhere in the middle. On a regular day, you'll probably find me at home with my dog Kacy on a Mad Men binge, or catching up with Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, How To Get Away With Murder and Suits- ps. I love netflix!
