With exams rapidly approaching, you can detect any fashion sense you may have once had quickly fade away. That’s it-watch it leave and wave goodbye! Say hello to comfy sweatpants, sweatshirts, glorious onesies and a complete and total lack of personal hygiene. That difficult dilemma that makes you choose between being clean and late to class or on time but leaving out that shower that you seriously, seriously need. The result of this leads to dandruff-filled stringy hair, and while you may find yourself not caring about personal style, those greasy locks need to be desperately disguised.

#1 – Dry Shampoo

In fraught times like these, dry shampoo is your best friend. I recommend Dove or Batiste, as it has never failed me before. Side note: aany brand will do as long as you have this essential product. The miraculous thing about dry shampoo is that it soaks up all of the grease in your hair, giving the illusion that you actually did take that much needed shower. To begin, spray your roots at about 10-15cm away. Be sure to spray from a distance, or the dry shampoo will turn your hair a nasty grey colour-trust me, I know this unfortunate event from experience. Next, you want to brush out the shampoo, pull it back into a high ponytail, and, voila! You have a grease-free pony.

#2 – Head Wraps

Luckily, head wraps are currently in fashion. These are great for hiding your hair because they cover more surface area then the typical headband, and well, they are much cuter. Another added bonus is that if you have sensitive skin like me, the head wrap only covers your hair – making break outs less likely. To add to that, there are many different types of head wraps, which include: bows, twisted and plain. Although, If you plan on wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt to your early morning exam, I would recommend styling it with a plain head wrap to go along with your laid back persona.

#3 – Sock Bun

The next glorious product to hide your hair is the sock bun because sometimes that stringy ponytail of yours just cannot be saved. Rather then trying to rock the Blake Lively pony-braid, or the messy bun that looks like a rat’s nest, the sock bun is a much better option.

#4 – Beanie and Braid

The last technique is the beanie and the braid. The beanie covers your entire head. However, I must warn you-beware of the forehead break-outs! The braid disguises the dandruff and grease filled hair that is still exposed.

In essence, I hope you find these four tips and tricks useful! If you have any to add, or if you try any of these out, be sure to give a shout out to Her Campus on Facebook and Twitter!
