Flawless skin with a nice healthy glow is something that we all want. Walking into Shopper’s will leave you staring at the aisles of skin care products. What am I supposed to buy? Do I need to establish some sort of routine? Can I worry about this when I am thirty? Here are some basic steps you can take into consideration to keep your skin looking great!

1. Cleanse
Although it is really tempting to crawl under the blankets after a long day, you really need to remove your makeup and the dirt you’ve accumulated throughout the day. Try to wash your face twice a day, in the morning and before you sleep. Dr. Jennifer Linder, MD, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco, recommends it. Avoid using a soap face wash to maintain all of your natural oils. Here’s your guide: if you have oily skin, use a cleanser with salicyclic acid/benzoyl peroxide and if you have combo/dry skin, use a creamy cleanser.

2. Moisturize
When searching for a moisturizer, find one that has peptides; vitamins C, A, E, B3, and B5; and antioxidants. Apply a generous amount for supple smooth skin.

3. Eyes & Other Nighttime Treatments
To prevent wrinkles and lines, try a hyaluronic acid. You can even use it under your eyes to relieve puffiness and dark circles. Other eye creams that are formulated with caffeine and niacinamide are helpful too. To treat acne or sun discolored skin, try prescription retinoid lotion or cream. You can even get other similar products, with the same active ingredient, over the counter.

What are you skin tips?
