Find yourself struggling to get out of bed in the morning? Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, unorganized, or totally drained?  You’re not alone! Life can get messy sometimes but there are ways to make it easier for yourself.  With a good routine and a few healthy habits, you can easily set your day up for success!

First things first, try establishing a daily routine for yourself that helps you to feel more balanced and on top of things.  Doing things at night before bed can help to prepare you for the next day and make your mornings much easier. For instance, avoid the endless outfit changes and the mountain of clothes on your bed in the morning by laying out your outfits the night before.  Avoid forgetting something at home by packing your bag before bed. Skip the unsatisfying granola bar and try meal prepping yummy, fulfilling meals ahead of time!

As for the dreaded time to wake up and face reality, you can make your mornings more tolerable with a few simple habits!  If you find yourself struggling to get out of bed, try setting your alarm clock farther away so that you have to get up and move around. You can even set your alarm a little earlier to give yourself more time to wake up and get ready in the morning, as well as have more time in your day for other things, whether that be for productivity or leisure.  Maybe even invest in a Wake Up Light Alarm Clock that helps you wake up more naturally.  In addition, open the shades and let the sunlight in!  The glorious sun never fails to wake me up and lift my mood in the morning.

Avoid your phone (if possible) and try something more mindful like meditation, yoga, practicing gratitude, journaling, or reading. Making a to-do list will also help you feel more organized and will make it easier to get through the day. Promote some positivity in the morning to boost your mindset and your attitude. Try to come up with a few mantras to tell yourself every morning – it’s seriously amazing the effects a little self-love and positivity can have. These habits can help to put you in an overall better mindset and help you to be more productive and positive throughout the day!

Now coffee is a must in the morning (obviously) but don’t forget to drink water!  Hydrating in the morning will not only wake you up, but it will also help you feel, look, and be healthier – thus achieving a more productive day and a healthier you. Okay now that you’re hydrated, it’s time to have that nice, warm cup of coffee to brighten your mood and wake you up! Breakfast is another important part of achieving a great day.  Make sure to have something good to fuel your body and your mind – I know pancakes make my day a heck of a lot better!

Another way to help kick-start and brighten your day is to be active. If you like to work out, try working out in the morning. If you’re not a big gym buff, take the dog for a walk, do a loop around the block, or even walk around your house. Put on some upbeat music to listen to while you go about your day and maybe even dance to it! In addition, try wearing a killer outfit. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, life is just awesome.  Last but not least, be positive – smile and laugh often; be kind to everyone; and think positively.

All in all, it’s the little changes that can make a big difference!  Try out some (or all) of these great habits and see what works best for you. These things will bring you far in life and make you so much happier! With a little trial and error, you can achieve a great routine that fits your lifestyle and helps you to have a more productive and successful day.
