Ian Somerhalder, also known as the sexy and dark Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries, has been the talk of the town when he defended his new girlfriend Nikki Reed, who is better known for her role as the stunning yet standoffish Rosalie from The Twilight Saga, against offensive posts on social media. Somerhalder stood up for Reed when she was publicly attacked by fans, who did not support the breakup between Somerhalder and his ex-girlfriend, co-star Nina Dobrev, and blamed Reed.
2. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield: The “Super Smart” Couple
The young and dashing Andrew Garfield blew up the box offices with his incredible performance as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spiderman and sequel. His off-set romance with co-star Emma Stone, who plays the beautiful and intelligent Gwen Stacy, has been documented as the two enjoy each other’s company while taking a walk downtown. The two met on the set of The Amazing Spiderman where they got to know each other better through their common interest inscience. Talk about loving the nerdy boy! The two obviously have chemistry on camera, but from the way they’re looking at each other, I’d say that they’ve got pretty good off-camera chemistry as well.
3. Leighton Meester and Adam Brody: The “Cute” Couple
The two shocked the show business world when they announced their secret wedding. Here, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester look oh-so-cute walking down the street in each other’s arms. Leighton Meester, better known for her role as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl and more recent star of Broadway’s production of Of Mice and Men, is now the loyal wife of Adam Brody, who we all know and love as The OC’s adorably awkward Seth Cohen. The couple didn’t even announce their marriage until after Meester’s debut on Broadway. Brody continues to support his beautiful bride as she breaks into the musical business as well, with her debut country album. The obvious and adorable romance between these two resembles the high-school sweetheart we’ve all experienced and cherished.
4. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds: The “Incredibly Good-Looking” Couple
Ryan Reynolds and his beautiful pregnant bride, Blake Lively have been another power couple that is the talk of the town. With stunning appearances at the Met Gala and other red carpet events, the two shock the public with their chemistry and their good looks. Blake Lively, well known for her role as fashionable “it-girl” Serena Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl or as Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, married actor Ryan Reynolds after they met on set filming Marvel’s The Green Lantern in a secret wedding. Reynolds is also well-known for his humorous acting in The Proposal, opposite Sandra Bullock, where he stunned us all with a very artful naked scene that highlighted his godly features. Recently, the couple announced the upcoming arrival of their first baby, while flaunting Lively’s pregnant belly on the red carpet, in a revealing yet stunning dress.
5. Beyonce and Jay-Z: The “I-don’t-know-how-many-Grammys-I-have” Couple
Among everyone’s favorite celebrity power couples, Queen B and Jay-Z rank among the top. The two have accomplished so much, separately and as a pair, and have proved to be a great team. The two married after Jay-Z discovered Beyonce’s talent as a solo artist and helped her start her solo career after Destiny’s Child. Beyonce is every girl’s role model with her powerfully dominant and sassy personality, along with all her infinite talents and awards in music, dance, and acting. She’s stunned us with performances like the half-time show at the 2013 Super Bowl, and has become a pop-culture symbol for feminism. Similar to his spouse, Jay-Z has won numerous awards for his music and the pair recently went on tour to promote Beyonce’s eponymous new album that he worked on. The couple was surrounded by some scandalous rumors this summer about Jay-Z’s infidelity, but since then the two have been stronger than ever. Blue Ivy, their adorable little girl, has some really big shoes to fill when she grows up!
6. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: The “Sexiest Humanitarians” Couple
Last but not least, our favorite celebrity couple is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The two have been the center of attention of numerous tabloids and gossip rags throughout the years, what with love-triangles and their constant need to expand their adorable family, but the two remain as strong as ever. Their romance was first sparked when the two were cast as protagonists to the classic Mr. and Ms. Smith, and everyone can see that the chemistry and passion they portrayed on set, has some real-life truth to it. Brad Pitt has been named “Sexiest Man Alive” by People Magazine twice (who can blame them?) and Angelina Jolie is well known for her humanitarian work as well as her success in the movie industry. Talk about a power couple!
