The birds are singing, the trees are budding, and the snow is finally melting! You know what that means – spring is in the air!! Along with the new season can come a lot of new changes in life, which can be big or small. What’s great about spring is the chance we get to embrace these changes and use them as an opportunity to create the lives we dream of!

Change can be a great thing, but it’s important to prepare ourselves for this change by opening up room in our lives to let it in. There are a plethora of ways to spring clean your life and make room for the new and exciting transformations awaiting you.

Technology Detox

When it comes to spring cleaning your life, your mentality has a huge part to play in this equation. It’s easy to let your thoughts and emotions get out of control, take over your mind, and leave you in a bad mood.

To clear your mind, achieve the right mindset, and lift your spirits, try to detox from social media every once in a while. Technology is a huge time sucker! Social media is fun, yes, but it can be easy to overdo it and waste hours of your day, mindlessly scrolling, watching, clicking, etc. Where’s the quality of life there?

Try spending your time doing other things like getting out of the house, catching up with friends and family, reading a book or even starting a new hobby! Practice mindful activities like meditating, doing yoga, listening to podcasts or audiobooks, and getting outside in nature.

Taking a break, detoxing from social media, and doing something that improves your mood can help in a number of ways. It can help you to:

*Relieve stress and anxiety

*Be present, live in the moment, and enjoy life

*Practice gratitude and learn to appreciate the little things in life

*Invest time in doing things that fulfill you and make you happy

*Finally, spend more quality time with the people in your life

Spruce Up Your Space

Your environment also plays a big part in your life. If you’re living in a space that’s cluttered, unpleasant or dirty, it can negatively impact your mindset, mood, and even your productivity.

Freshen up your environment by decluttering, tidying up, and cleaning. Even better, surround yourself with visuals and things that align with your goals. Have a workspace that’s appealing to you where you can be productive and get stuff done. Put pictures, quotes or posters on your walls that encourage or motivate you.

In addition, put some candles or air fresheners in your room that put you in a good mood. Remove anything with a negative essence or distractions that hinder you. All in all, there are lots of ways to improve your space and thus, improve your productivity, focus, and mood.

Rid Toxic Relationships

The people in our lives can have a very big impact on us. Sometimes, it’s a good idea to limit or remove the people in your life that drain your energy, bring you down or hold you back from being your best self.

For starters, if there are certain people on social media that make you feel bad, go ahead and unfollow them! If someone dumps all their problems on you and fails to support you in return, maybe limit the amount of energy you allow them to drain you of. If there are people in your life who put you down, are constantly negative, or are rude and disrespectful towards you, say goodbye!!

Be good to yourself and put more of your energy towards the things and people that lift you up, make you a better person, and bring you closer to your goals and dreams.

Start Healthy Habits/Develop a Routine

Set some small goals or challenges for yourself throughout the week. Healthy habits like drinking more water, developing a consistent sleep schedule, practicing daily meditation or even getting out of the house a few times a week can all help you reach your health and wellness goals.

In addition to healthy habits, develop a routine to keep you on track. A consistent schedule to follow will help you to organize your days and stay on top of your day-to-day activities.

Health and Wellness

Last but not least, your health and wellness are a crucial part of your life. Taking care of your body and mind will bring you far by enhancing your mood, energy, performance and more.

It’s so important to ensure you give yourself what you need to be the best version of yourself. For starters, make sure your body is hydrated, well-rested and fueled with the right vitamins and nutrients. You can do this by drinking more water, going to bed earlier and having a healthy diet.

In addition, make sure you’re getting active and getting out of the house.  This is not only beneficial for your physical wellness, but your mental health as well. Finally, take care of your mental health by practicing gratitude, meditating, reading and other mindful activities.
