Finals week can be stressful, and it may seem like all your assignments are piling up as you’re reaching your last few days of the school year. Keep up the good work and finish strong, since summer is right around the corner! Below are a few tips to keep calm and stress-free (as much as possible) leading up to, and during, your finals week.

Try meditation.

This is an easy addition to any part of your day, and it can be as long or short of a meditation period as you want it to be. Use this time to breathe, reflect, and take a break in the day from the stress of the outside world. Take the time to focus on your breathing. Apps such as Headspace can assist you in a guided meditation if you haven’t tried it before.

Use a face mask.

During finals week, it’s easy to forget about self-care. Take time out of your day and away from studying to apply a face mask that will help your skin to glow and stay clear. Each face mask is different for various types of skin; I like to use an Origins Active Charcoal Mask because it best clears my pores and helps to remove stubborn pimples that just seem to never go away. I like to use a face mask, especially during finals week when I’m stressed and while my skin is breaking out way more than normal.

Exercise.

Sometimes it’s hard to get up and take a break from studying when you’ve been sitting in one place for so long. Exercise helps to clear your mind, and it’s also a good break from studying. Take the time to get your body moving, even if it’s just for a short walk around campus or taking a yoga class.

Rest.

If you find yourself gulping down coffee after coffee and you just can’t seem to keep your eyes open, it might be your body telling you that you need to catch some Z’s and go to sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep in the night. If you find yourself sleepy during the day, take a quick nap to give your brain and body time to rest. When you get back to studying, you’ll feel more concentrated.

Listen to your favorite playlist.

Take time away from studying and listen to your favorite songs, and dance around! Whether it’s listening to just a few songs, or maybe even the whole playlist, it will give you time to focus on something else besides just your schoolwork.
