April has started, it’s finally beginning to feel like spring, and it’s time to begin thinking about summer vacation. But first, you have to pick your classes for next semester (dun dun dun!). It’s a long and arduous process, but you have to go through it. No matter what you do, there’s no avoiding it and what it takes to officially select your class schedule.Â
1. Reading the email from the Registrar’s Office
You can already look over classes online?! Why would you want to start torturing yourself already? It’s only a few weeks into the semester, and they already want you to start thinking about the next one. No, thank you.
2. Visiting your advisor
Didn’t you just see them? It honestly can’t be time to do all this again. There’s too much stress attached to visiting your advisor to figure out what the rest of your college life will look like.Â
3. Planning out your schedule
Looking at class times and places feels like you’re reading ancient Greek. And why does everything you need seem to fall on the same day? You could spend hours staring at your computer screen trying to figure this all out.
4. Scoping out Rate My Professor
While looking over your potential classes, it’s absolutely necessary to determine if you’re going to like a professor from their online rating. You don’t want to get stuck in a class taught by someone you’ll end up hating.Â
5. Getting your registration time
Why is it so late? Nobody wants to pick classes at 11:50 p.m. or late in the week. Now you have to worry about your classes filling up or being waitlisted.Â
6. Watching the registration websiteÂ
This is no time to sit back and just relax. You’ll be watching the website like a hawk to make sure you don’t have to rearrange your schedule last second. When one of the classes you want starts filling up, you can’t help but get nervous.
7. Registering for classes
The time is finally here! You’ve made it through everything to get to this point, and, right now, there’s no better feeling than clicking the link to sign up for your classes.Â
