It’s no secret that two of the most popular music streaming platforms are Apple Music and Spotify. As a loyal Apple Music subscriber, I am definitely biased toward this app. However, I want to highlight a few of the pros and cons of both, to help you find what works best for you. One of the main differences between Apple Music and Spotify is the aesthetic. Apple Music features a light background with many highlights of white (if you have your phone on light mode), whereas Spotify features a dark black background with many accents of green. If you’re someone like myself who lives for the light aesthetic, the Apple Music background is perfect for you! Apple Music also offers deals on subscriptions for college students! If you are a college student, you are able to pay $4.99 per month, rather than the normal price of $9.99 per month. It is also important to add that people are able to get a free six-month trial for Apple Music!

Spotify also offers a free trial, however, it is only available for thirty days. This app costs $9.99 per month, however, like Apple Music, it includes perks for college-aged students. For $4.99 per month, students have access to Spotify along with Hulu!

With both Apple Music and Spotify, you are able to search, save, and stream your favorite songs all day long and create your own playlists, however, apple music offers over 90 million songs, compared to Spotify offering just over 70 million. Both Apple Music and Spotify offer personalized playlists, made for you by the app, based on your interests, likes, and most-listened-to songs and artists.

Overall, Apple Music and Spotify are both great streaming platforms, and deciding which one is best is really just a matter of personal preference.
