15 Reasons Why Panic! At The Disco’s New Album Gives Us Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

My inner pop-punk teen screams with joy every time Panic! At The Disco plays (I will be seeing them live in New York this summer omg), so it’s only fitting that, after the release of their latest album, Death of a Bachelor (omg x2), we pay tribute to the band whose music gives us all life.

Because with the release of Death of a Bachelor, it brings back a wave of P!ATD nostalgia for classics like “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” which started it all

Because when “Victorious” comes on you feel invincible and can’t help but to flail your arms and scream the words

Because this album is actually a tribute to Brendon Urie getting married

Because Brendon Urie’s wife, Sarah, and their wedding are both perfect

Because Brendon Urie….

…anyways.

Because even though you’ve never done cocaine (at least we hope not), you still belt out the chorus to “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time” when it plays

Because “Hallelujah” makes you feel like you can do anything but also makes you feel some type of way (THOSE HIGH NOTES, MY GOD)

Because the music video for “Emperor’s New Clothes” might be a little creepy but the song is still gold and because you’re not sure why the whole gargoyle/demon thing is turning you on…

Because when you hear “Death Of A Bachelor” you know exactly what Urie meant when he said this album would be a mix of Frank Sinatra and Queen

Because this album is so retro-modern you want to cry (if you’ve listened to “Crazy=Genius” you understand)

Because you’ve never been to Los Angeles, but “LA Devotee” ensures you could take the whole city by storm in your all-black outfit while also sipping white wine (yes, please)

Because songs like “Golden Days” remind you of the punky older stuff *insert nostalgia of teen angst here*

Because you bump hard to “The Good, The Bad, And The Dirty” and wonder if you’re good, bad, or dirty, or some combination of the three

Because “House Of Memories” hits you right in the heart and reminds you of Brendon’s amazing range and use of melody *actual swoon*

And because “Impossible Year” is the perfectly touching, Sinatra-esque ending to this perfect gem of an album…

Brendon, we understand, we feel you on the deepest spiritual level possible – (your wife is beautiful but know we’ll always be waiting… just in case).*slow head nods to final piano chords*
