A letter to everyone,
Everyone around the world. The phrase “we’re all in the same boat” has never been more
appropriate. I know it’s getting harder each day. I know your life has changed by 180 degrees. I
know that google, rather than Instagram, is the first app you open in the morning. I know you
type in “COVID cases in Xyz province/country.” I know seeing the graph go up scares you.
I know when you cough twice a day, you think about it twice every hour. I know all this. Trust me.
I know it’s not getting easy but I also know it’s not permanent. The only thing permanent is your
relationship with your friends and family. And most importantly, your relationship with yourself. So
here’s your chance to call up that high school friend you haven’t been able to take out time for, to try all
those face masks, to binge-watch shows and movies in your pajamas, to try out that new recipe
which was too long. You have all the time in the world now, literally. We can all either sulk and
cry over the situation or use it as an opportunity to utilize our time at home. And I know this
might sound weird but this opportunity won’t come again for a very long time, hopefully.
One last tip, for all those people who are desperately waiting for this time to go by, learn a new skill.
You’d be surprised by how much that can occupy your day. This Pandemic came on all of us
together and together we will get through this.
In the end, I leave you with lots of love and advice you hear at least 15 times a day: stay home.
Yours truly,
Stay home neighbor
