With summer officially over, and the first days of classes upon us, its important to ensure you are heading into the new semester on the best foot possible. While focusing your efforts on your academic success is key, its just as crucial to make sure the other aspects of your day-to-day life are set up to be as conducive to success as possible. Here are 3 easy habits you should try out for the new semester:
1. Establish a regular sleep schedule
Are you an early riser or a night owl? What time do your classes start on most days? These are the type of questions you need to consider when trying to decide what routine would benefit you the most. Having a regular sleep schedule can help add some structure and routine to your semester; it could be what you need to accomplish the other goals you have for yourself.

2. Plan your meals in advance
Not only does this help to save you money, but it means you can more time studying/partying/binging Netflix. An effective way to do this is to cook in bulk only a few times a week, or meal prep. The weekend is a great time to do this, but any day when you have a few hours to spare works just as well.

3. Keep a planner
There are so many easy (and free!) ways to stay on top of your commitments. I personally use a mixture of a few; the Google Calendar App and a physical Agenda help to keep me on track. Simply set aside some time each week to make a note of all the following weeks commitments across your different media. It’s that easy.
