The U of A is situated in a really great location near plenty of local shops, restaurants, and cafés. If you find yourself spending too much time studying on campus, consider checking out one of these cute cafés close by!

1. Transcend Coffee (Garneau)

This place is small but really cute! Located just a short walk from the university, Transcend is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and do your assigned readings (or daydream instead).

2. Remedy (Garneau)

No surprises here, Remedy is a staple for most university students. It’s the perfect place for those late-night study sessions. Enjoy their large menu of drinks and treat yourself to some dessert!

3. Block 1912 (Whyte Ave)

A bit further away from campus, located on Whyte Ave, is Block 1912. With their super cozy environment, great selection of cakes, and delicious warm drinks, this is a really good study spot.

4. Da Capo (Whyte Ave)

Further down from Block 1912 is Da Capo, a modern cafe with a great selection. With their large windows, this is a great place to enjoy the sunlight while studying. If you get hungry, Under the High Wheel serves a great lunch and they’re right beside them!

5. The Woodrack Café (Whyte Ave)

Located just off of Whyte Ave and close to Block 1912, The Woodrack Café’s new location is perfect if you want to get off campus but still stay close by. Grab breakfast or some light snacks to keep your energy up while you study!
