1) What is Halloween on Vernon?

Halloween on Vernon is an annual event hosted by ACES, annual community events staff, that offers kids from the local Hartford community a fun and safe place to trick or treat on our campus!

2) Why do you think this event is important for the relationship between Trinity and Hartford?

This event is important because it offers a place for the kids of Hartford to have fun in and allows for students to build a stronger relationship with the community as well as having more face to face interactions.

3) What activities are going to be available to children?

We have an assortment of activities this year from cookie decorating, temporary tattoos, face painting, candy pong, coloring to candy sushi making! It will be very exciting.

4) What other organizations are involved?

This year we have every house on Vernon St. involved, Cultural houses, Greek houses and dorms! It has a been a great turn out, we also have a few surprise stops planned as well, one including Berger-Sweeney!

5) What events will ACES hold in the future? How can students get involved?

This semester we will be hosting a Thanksgiving drive as well as Sponsor-a-Snowman which is an event that allows students to purchase a personal gift for a student at one of the Hartford Public Schools. If anyone is interested about our events feel free to stop by the Community Service Office located in the basement of Mather or e-mail trinaces@gmail.com!!

5) What is your favorite ACES memory?

One of my favorite memories was opening a package of thank you cards from all of the students we gave gifts to from Sponsor-a-Snowman.  They were all so grateful and I really felt like contributed to their holiday experience, it was an extremely rewarding experience.

Favorite Professor: I actually really don’t have a favorite professor but my top three would have to be Christopher van Ginhoven Rey,  Scott Gac, and Thomas Harrington. I have really enjoyed all of my professors here because they have all provided me with different memories and experiences.

Favorite Spot on Campus: On a nice day, I really enjoy sitting outside the Vernon Social Center

Favorite Class Ever Taken: Cervantes, Goya, Buñuel

Describe your perfect day at Trinity: Wake up around 10:30/11, go to Peter B’s to make my specialty coffee and grab one of the best croissants, quad it up with some friends, nap, BYOB @ the Trin rest. and then G.N.O. with the home girls.
