Unique Internships You NEED To Check Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

It’s that time again. The time where your parents are nagging you to look for summer internships… when we think of the word Internship, we cringe a bit. The thought of spending our summer behind a desk, doing a monotonous task seems a bit lackluster. But who said you must do something boring?

Luckily, I’ve done all of the digging, and I’m bringing to you some of the coolest internships I have ever heard of. All you have to do is apply!

1.  DRINK IT INTERN, World of Beer: https://worldofbeer.com/DrinkItInternApplication

Wow. You had me at beer. Who wouldn’t want to sign up for this?

Here’s what WOB has to say about it;

It’s the beer opportunity of a lifetime…

Want to spend your summer traveling the country, hanging out at WOB, drinking beer, meeting brewers and diving into beer culture? We’re recruiting three Drink it Interns to hit the road this summer and search out the best craft beer and food out there. We want you to show the world the beer communities that make up the fabric of cities that WOB call home! We’ll send you to WOBs across the country and internationally to capture the best beer and “beer people” stories and document them by blogging, capturing video, taking photos, Facebooking, Tweeting, Snapchatting, ‘gramming and anything else you think would be awesome to help tell the tale.

2. Smithsonian Internship; https://www.smithsonianofi.com/blog/2012/12/26/smithsonian-internships/

If you’re a lover of history, culture, art and museums, this may be an opportunity of a lifetime.

Here’s what Smithsonian has to say about it;

Smithsonian internships are learning experiences guided by a mentor, occurring during a specific time frame, which provide benefits relating to an intern’s education, coursework, or career goals. With stated learning objectives and a mentor’s commitment, interns may be appointed for a term of up to six months. As an intern’s experiential education progresses, with revised learning objectives and a renewed commitment from a mentor, they may be reappointed.

3. Discovery Channel Internship: https://corporate.discovery.com/careers/internships/

Offering a variety of internship opportunities, from Los Angeles to Miami!

4. Hershey: https://careers.thehersheycompany.com/us/en/job/HERSA005H1586/Intern-Fie…

Your introduction to the consumer products industry and selling will be delivered through real world experience with our grocers, convenience, and mass merchandiser customers. You will sell and negotiate distribution of Hershey products through the use of weekly sales figures and market data with a territory of high volume chain grocers, convenience, and mass merchandiser customers.

Good Luck, HCXO!
