Towson Tantrum: Taking Elevators Up or Down One Floor

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

There is nothing that irritates me more than people who take the elevator up or down one floor. ONE. Is there a reason why you cannot locate the stairwell? Unless you are injured, no, there is not.

It makes my skin crawl when I finally get back to my dorm after a long day of classes, occasional meetings, and dealing with people who do not know how to keep going with the flow of traffic in busy buildings. Seriously, people. Can we stop stopping in the middle of the hallway so you can have “bro time” or scream about your First World Problems? No one cares that you cracked your iPhone screen – sorry, I am getting off track – but it bothers me to see a person squeeze into a packed elevator only to take it to the second floor.

I cannot guarantee that you will not die if you take the stairs up or down one floor. But I can guarantee that I will side-eye you for every second of your journey up or down one floor after you press the button. I will glare at the back of your head until the doors close once more because let’s face it, those elevators are a privilege that we all take advantage of.
