With the temperatures dropping lately and the Holidays just around the corner, it is time to celebrate Winter in Austin! Support our city by shopping local & buying their selections of winter goods.

1. Outdoor Voices: They recently released a new jacket The Mega Fleece (https://www.outdoorvoices.com/pages/megafleece) . The jacket is made with wool and is perfect for a variable Texas winter. Along with this is their Cloud Knit technology for sweatpants, long sleeved t-shirts, and pullovers (https://www.outdoorvoices.com/pages/cloudknit).

2. Book People: The book store off Lamar has many holiday-themed books. I recommend Let it Snow, which is a three part book from authors John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle (and was also was recently made into a Netflix movie). Perfect for curling up by a fireplace with hot chocolate & settling down with a good read, plus it is always good to support independent bookstores! This one is the largest in Texas!

3. Kendra Scott: Their beautiful Winter collection recently came out (with the campaign shot in Marfa!) (https://www.kendrascott.com/jewelry/collections/winter-collection/) They also have a partnered up with Universal to promote the movie Last Christmas, with a jewelry suite inspired by the movie (https://www.kendrascott.com/jewelry/collections/last-christmas/).

4. Alamo Drafthouse: They have a great selection of Holiday movies starting in the month of December, including ElfHome AloneThe Holiday, etc. (https://drafthouse.com/program/december).

5.Whole Foods: Their tea, hot chocolate, and candles are some of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit and help combat the chill (https://products.wholefoodsmarket.com/product/celestial-seasonings-celestial-seasonings-peppermint-tea-acfe0a).

Hi, I'm Madeline Muschalik! This is my fourth year in Her Campus; I wrote for Her Campus at Wake Forest University before transferring to UT in fall 2019. Last year I was the Her Campus Texas Co-President and Campus Correspondent & it was so rewarding. I am excited to explore Austin and learn more about our university through Texas Her Campus. Some of my hobbies include running, reading, yoga, and traveling! I am a Public Relations Major and with a minor in Entrepreneurship and certificate in Creative Writing. Outside of Her Campus I am involved in Texas American Marketing Association, Moody Communication Council, a member of the Kendra Scott WEL Institute Student Council, Texas Kappa Delta, and I am a Transfer Year Interest Group (TRIG) mentor. I love UT & all the amazing opportunities (like Her Campus) that it has to offer!
