For the past year, Olivia Rodrigo has been my top artist day in and day out. Back in the spring of 2021, my heart was still aching and her music healed that ache. Let’s just say back when we got our Spotify wrap for the year I was in her Top .05% listeners. Unfortunately, Ticket Master hates me and I wasn’t chosen to be a lucky verified fan for her event. So, in honor of the Sour Tour, along with my depression era, I wanted to rank her music from my top to my top because let’s be honest all of her songs are at my top.

Traitor

Traitor is my top song written because of two main reasons. One, he is a traitor. Two, my experiences in the past have related to this song too much. I won’t disclose too much information because I can write a whole book about it and it’ll be too depressing so I will leave it at that.

Favorite Crime

Favorite crime is a close second for me because it faces the reality of why some relationships end. Getting out of a relationship that you want to work on so bad, is the hardest thing that someone can experience. This song made me realize that putting your partner over yourself in a relationship isn’t always the healthiest thing to do. Being in a healthy relationship means not forcing your partner to act on your failures. Now, I know this may sound bad but I am a true believer in not degrading others to make you feel powerful. A relationship should be 50/50 which means knowing your worth and fighting for your partner to know theirs.

Happier

Happier is one of those songs that shows the same level of hurt and pettiness we can feel when our partner leaves us for another person. When we love someone so much, there will always be a part of us that wishes them to be happy someday. After all the fighting and issues, we loved that person at one point to know that we want them to be happy. However, our icon Olivia had to let them know they won’t ever be happier than how they were with her. Same, sis.

Jealousy, Jealousy

Jealousy, Jealousy is the song that interprets the feelings we start to experience at a young age. Comparing ourselves to others is that one subconscious action that will never stop. The lyric “I think too much bout’ the kids who don’t know me,” speaks for itself. I’m not sure why I do it and pretty sure I won’t ever stop caring but that just shows how much we can relate to the queen herself.

1 step forward, 3 steps back

I don’t think there’s anything else I can say that the song doesn’t say. It’s describing the change and the work that goes through fixing a relationship from one side. I personally believe that any healthy relationship is allowed to have its downs but making the effort to solve the issues behind the downs is what makes one stronger.

Deja Vu

Olivia, bestie, I’m sorry you get deja vu. But in all honesty, you’re a queen and no one deserves you.

Drivers License

Drivers License describes the love at first sight. She made us all fall in love with her in a matter of 4 minutes.

Enough for you

The reason I have this song so low on the list is because of the emotional damage. Being enough for someone is a feeling that no one should experience and this song brings everything to life. It describes every piece of feeling that I have ever felt when being in a relationship. I deeply love this song, but it hits too hard that it becomes hard to listen to.

Brutal

There are no words I can say to justify brutal. Brutal is just THAT song and it has no other choice than to be THAT song.

Hope ur ok

Hope ur ok was very underrated by many people. But it tells a story that many of us may have forgotten about in our life. It’s not low on my list because I don’t like it but I relate to others more.

Good 4 u

Good 4 u reminds me of that post-breakup glow that everyone should experience if they’re feeling down. It’s important to realize that self-love is the only love you truly need. So, if you’re going through a breakup it’s time to get up and realize you’re a queen or king and love yourself.

I’m deeply sorry if I offend anyone with my rank choices, but let’s be honest, every song is FIRE so I agree with your ranks on this album too. To all my besties that have hurt and are still hurting I send lots of love and hugs, I wish you well and hope ur ok<3. pun intended.
