What is ACL?
ACL is Austin City Limits is an annual music festival that is located in Zilker Park and goes on for two weekends. ACL is a necessity to go to if you love music. Imagine: outdoors, concerts surrounding you, food everywhere, and a good time. ACL gives you the total Austin experience.
Music
This year the lineup is so diverse. There is no way you will not be able to find a band you do not like. There are bands like Flume to the Chainsmokers to Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead. The artists and bands that come to perform at ACL are the best of the best. They are so fun, exciting, crazy, entertaining, and passionate. Going to any of the dozens of concerts that are going on is something you have to experience while in Austin. There are many music festivals but none compare to the fun of ACL.
What to wear
So it’s Austin, Texas and the weather is crazy. Be prepared for blazing heat. Also, keep in mind that you will be drenched in sweat by the end of the night. It might sound really gross to be so sweaty, but it is so worth it. You will take A LOT of pictures so dress cute. But, also, dress for comfort. You are going to be out in the Texas heat in a park all day so make the best of it and dress accordingly.
What to eat
Austin is known for its crazy foods and food trucks. ACL is no exception. The ACL Food trucks offers the most delicious festival food, drinks and sweets from Austin and the surrounding area’s favorite restaurants. There is Amy’s icrecream to pizza to hamburgers to vegetarian options. You will honestly never go hungry while at ACL.
Safety at ACL
Like any music festival there is loads of people and a little bit of chaos. However, ACL has fencing enclosing the festival to ensure protection and safety. There is security guards and police to watch over everyone. Also, there is medical staff at the festival for any type of medical emergency that may occur. A tip from a past ACL goer is to stay hydrated. It is VERY hot at the festival and staying outside in the blaring sun all day can cause dehydration.

ACL is my favorite thing about Austin. ACL has everything that makes Austin such an amazing city. It has the music aspect, the outdoors, the food, and the fun. If you are going to ACL this year, you will not regret it. If you do not have tickets I strongly recommend trying to find some, if not there is always next year!
