‘Tis the Season for Fashion: Winter Wardrobe Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Rejoice collegiettes™ – the holidays are quickly approaching and you’ll finally have a reason to change out of that pair of “finals” leggings and into something a little trendier for the festivities. Whether you’re heading to meet the parents or to your bestie’s annual New Years party, a winter wardrobe can be as daunting as it can be exciting. We’re here to help you solve that ever-lingering question of “What should I wear?

Casual Date Night
If you’re headed to grab coffee, cuddle on movie night or to catch a local band with your sweetie or crush, you want to go for a cute and cozy date night combo. Printed skinny jeans and a sheer blouse are feminine and figure flattering while a big sweater will have him itching to wrap his arms around you.
Winternship

For you go-getter collegiettes who were lucky enough to score an internship this winter, dressing for it can be quite different than dressing for an internship during any other season. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean that bold colors are a no-go, in fact, with more layers like tights, boots and jackets added to the mix, office attire during the winter can be super versatile.

Meeting the ‘Rents
Slip on a fabulous outfit and calm first impression jitters when meeting your beau’s parents. Even for you single gals who don’t have the pressure of meeting the other half’s family, you still have to dress for your own. Try an outfit that combines a sweet polka dot print blouse with colored denim in this season’s preferred burgundy to go along with just about any holiday family gathering.

New Year’s Bash
Whether you’re ringing in 2013 with your closest gals or stepping out to a fancy soiree, always dress to impress on New Year’s Eve. Just because you want to shine, doesn’t mean you have to with the cliché sparkles and sequined ensembles. Instead, stand out in the crowd with a flirty skirt in a trendy fabric or a
bold pattern.
