- Ask yourself, “What is the worst thing that could happen?” Life is a series of rollercoasters, and when things don’t go our way, we tend to question everything and beat ourselves up. However, remember that life is here to teach and build us, and there isn’t so much one can control. Hence, when life feels rocky and it feels like you are drowning. Just let it flow, and you will realize that doing that is even more courageous than holding on to the tides that don’t benefit you. In the end, ask yourself: “what really is the worst that could happen?” Trust me, after answering that question, you will realize that it isn’t that bad, and you are stronger than whatever it is you are going through.
- Eat: Yes, stuff yourself with lots of food, and eat what makes your heart happy. This will help you de-stress, and most importantly, it will help take your mind off of the crisis you are going through. No, this isn’t suppressing your feelings or ignoring your emotions. Rather, it is to make you understand that there is more to life than the worldly chaos you are dealing with. If not food, do other things that would bring you joy because they help you see life differently.
- Speak to people you love: This one is underrated. When we are in a sunken place, we tend to think we are alone. However, speaking to people you love will show you that it is the opposite. It is like eating something good for the first time and then asking yourself how come you have never made the effort to try it. So is how it is with speaking to close ones about you feel, because they will always welcome you, and make you feel good about yourself, no matter how late you come to that realization. So, it is never too late to pick that phone up or set up that meeting with your mother, sister, brother, or friend, and talk to them about how you are feeling; because they will always be ready to listen to you.
Finally, you are not alone in whatever you are going through. You are enough and are appreciated. ❤️
