Okay, Spring Break is officially a few days away and then comes summer. Bikini season is upon us. Fear not, because UT is surrounded by great workout places for whatever kind of exercise you’re into. This means no excuses!
1. Cyc
Location: West Campus on 23rd and Pearl St.
Style: 45-minute Spinning
Class Schedule: Mon-Sun, morning and evening classes
About: Cyc is more of a party than a workout. The 45-minutes speed by with a combination of endurance and weighted sectors. The fast-paced style, flashy light shows and upbeat music makes it such a fun workout.
2. Fight Club
Location: West Campus on Rio Grande next to Red Mango
Style: 1 hour circuit training
Class Schedule: Mon-Sun, morning and evening classes, daily open gym
About: Not only does Fight Club offer insane workouts, but it is the perfect outlet to let off a little steam. With circuits that work every muscle group in the body, you will be punching, kicking, squatting, crunching and sweating. The instructors do a great job of motivating all the way through the class (and picking songs to get you hyped).
3. Pure Pilates
Location: Corner of 22nd and ½ and Pearl
Style: 45 minute full body
Class Schedule: Mon-Fri all throughout the day, Sat-Sun morning classes
About: Strength training + cardio = full body workout. Pilates focuses on sculpting the body and getting that much-desired six pack. The upbeat music mixed with high intensity cardio helps to burn calories and make you sweat!
4. Wonderlust Yoga
Location: Downtown 4th Street
Style: 60-75 minute classes, style varies
Class Schedule: Mon-Sun all day classes
About: Wanderlust Yoga offers many classes ranging from beginner to experienced. Some classes are heated, some focus on one muscle group and some are full body. Wanderlust also has many workshops and specials throughout the year (including student deals). Bonus- Wanderlust shares their space with Blenders and Bowls where you can get delicious smoothies and smoothie bowls.
5. Gregory Gym
Location: UT Campus
Style: Everything!
Schedule: Open daily 8am-10pm
About: Finally we have our classic recreation center. Gregory Gym has everything from cardio rooms to weight rooms to racketball to swimming to rock climbing. Gregory also offers all different kinds of Texercise classes if you’re looking to switch it up. For more one on one training they have personal trainers and programs to follow. It is also conveniently located right on our very own campus.
