What to say, what to say? Unfortunately actions speak louder and words and I can’t quite SHOW you exactly what I saw (and maybe participated in), but I CAN tell you what I learned:

  • When there is drinking involved and you’re staying with boys, do NOT just leave your clothing in a pile on the bedroom floor. Apparently then it’s fair game for them to pee on it.
  • Don’t leave a waiter (especially on Bourbon Street) your roommate’s number. He WILL text her, he WILL use her credit card receipt to find her on Facebook, and he WILL have an assortment of very creepy profile pictures.
  • If there’s any chance you’re going to extend your road trip three states and drive to Florida, bring more than one CD. There’s only a certain number of times you can listen to “Beast Mode” without going suicidal, and it’s not quite the most soothing song for a hangover.
  • If your budget is low, be prepared to eat Taco Bell three times a day. I mean, 98 cents for a burrito?! They’re practically giving those things away.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Whether you’re getting your Cupid Shuffle on or hopping up and down to “Don’t Stop Believing,” it takes about 15 minutes before the euphoria wears off and the excruciating pain of those 6-inch stilettos sets in. And if there’s one place you’ll get Hepatitis going barefoot, it’s Spring Break. What a buzzkill.

I could go on and on about sneaking away from security guards, smuggling your friends into hotels via car trunk and, of course, the best beer pong strategies. But it was Spring Break, so let’s be honest—I’m sure you all learned those basics on your own.
