Reminders to Slay Thanksgiving This Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Holidays are supposed to be the best time of the year, but I know how stressful they can get. Maybe you’re so overwhelmed with dessert prep that you forget to put together the perfect Thanksgiving dinner outfit, or your long trip home left you with no time to prepare your “I’m thankful for” speech. No matter what your struggle is this holiday season, I have you covered with tips to EAT Thanksgiving.

  1. Pause your account on dating apps. Trust me.
  • There’s nothing worse than going home for the holidays and getting a like on Hinge from the literal ~ worst ~ guy from your high school. Do yourself a favor and pause your account so you don’t have to see their face on your screen. (Or don’t, and let them see how good you’re doing.)
  1. Skincare is key.
  • Thanksgiving unofficially marks the beginning of cold weather here in Texas. This means that the holiday also marks the end of naturally glowy skin for a lot of us. To take extra care of your skin, try trends like skin cycling or slugging. Don’t forget to pay attention to your body too!
  1. Stay away from the men.
  • Unless you like football. That is all they will talk about.
  1. Relax.
  • This is your time away from everything: school, work, responsibilities, etc. Sleep in late if you can and stay in bed all day. Do whatever your body is telling you it needs.

Thanksgiving is all about being with family and friends, so even if you do any of these things, be sure to make time for them as well. Have a fun and safe holiday break!
