I’m calling it now – the following styles will be everywhere this summer. TBH, I don’t have a logical reason why I think these will be trending. It’s just a gut feeling, but I’m curious if you agree and if I get any right, so let’s get into it!
Drop-Waist Dresses and Skirts
As a mid-sized girlie, I sincerely hope I’m wrong about this one. This look can be traced back to the ’80s and emphasizes the waist with its signature low waistband that falls on the hips instead of at the waist. The style is usually sported with ruched fabric that I find so uncomfortable on my skin, so I’m hopeful that this prediction doesn’t come true.
Maxi-Everything
If I had to choose one trend to take off this summer, it would absolutely be the maxi-everything look! I am not ashamed to admit that I am a maxi-everything enthusiast! I love how comfortable, casual, and effortless this looks on everyone! So because it is a style that flatters all body types, I’m sticking with my gut feeling and guessing that everyone will be wearing it this summer. And the best part is that you can wear these outfits in the fall as well!
Relaxed Denim
Predicting that denim will be trending is almost cheating because denim is always in style. However, what I mean specifically is the more loose-fitting, relaxed style! We know mom jeans have taken the fashion world by storm because the best part about them, the loose fit, is so breathable. That said, I think breathable denim will manifest in other clothing items like skirts, shorts, jackets, etc.
Romantic Balletcore
Balletcore was on the rise in 2022 and she is here to stay in 2023. There’s just something so beautiful about this aesthetic, so whether it’s trending or not this summer, I plan to wear it as my summer uniform.
