Michael is the Texas chair of Challah for Hunger. This is a nonprofit organization that bakes and sells challah (“Hal-lah”, traditional Jewish sweet bread). All proceeds from the challah sales are sent to American Jewish World Services, which then donates the money to Darfur relief in Sudan. You can buy some tasty challah on Wednesdays from noon to three in the West Mall.
Interests: Michael enjoys volunteering with Challah for Hunger and Big Brothers Big sisters, reading and watching TV (especially Dexter). He likes to play pickup basketballand soccer. Michael is also competent in French and Spanish.
If he were a tree, he’d be a pecan one, since it’s the Texas state tree.
Favorite animals: Penguins and turtles.
