We caught up with Lee during his campaign for Student Government Natural Sciences Representative.

Year: 2012

Major: Biochemistry

Relationship Status: Single

Hometown: Arlington, Texas

Extracurricular Activities: SG Natural Sciences Representative, Dean’s Scholars, Freshman Research Initiative Mentor, undergraduate researcher in Martin Group Technology

Interests: Medicine, playing the viola, ping pong, meeting new people, finding the best burger in Austin

A bit about why he’s running: “I believe I can continue making a difference if re-elected as a SG Natural Sciences Rep. During my current term, I have worked on the social dynamic between SG and the College of Natural Sciences administration. Our relationship is extremely strong now and SG is invited to department chair meetings. Also, Dean Rankin has begun to respect student opinion on college issues.

In the next year, I hope to use this strengthened relationship to increase the student voice on budget cuts in the College of Natural Sciences. My goal is also to improve the registration experience by implementing a scheduler, much like the one seen on MyEdu, and linking the Course Instructor Survey results to each course in the Course Schedule. There is no reason that these public results should be so hard to find. Lastly, I hope to promote student awareness of campus issues.”
