Major:  Human biology/pre-med

Hometown:  Roma, TX

Interests:  Sports, gaming, and hanging out with friends

Hobbies:  Listening to music, surfing the web, cooking, and finding answers to seemingly difficult problems

What are some of your best qualities?  I am friendly, easy-going, and compassionate.  I will stop at nothing to accomplish my dreams.

What type of music do you listen to?  I mostly listen to rock, but I enjoy music of all genres including classical and country music.

 Where do you work?  I currently work as a research assistant in the biomedical engineering building and assist in preparing experiments.

Why are you interested in pre-med?   As a child, I noticed the lack of physicians in the rural town I lived in. This inspired me to take part in making a difference in my community, and hopefully one day inspire others to follow in my footsteps.

 What is the country you wish to visit the most and why? I am split between Spain because of its wonderful scenery and Japan because of its advanced technology and Manga.

Favorite food:  Food… it’s all delicious

Favorite influential figure:  My girlfriend who always believes in me.

Favorite Shows:  The Walking Dead, Psych, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, House and Naruto

Bernice Chuang is a fourth year double majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Communication Studies-Human Relations and doing the Business Foundations Program (aka business minor) at the University of Texas at Austin. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Bernice is a fan of good country music and yummy barbeque! At UT, Bernice is a resident assistant at an all-female residence hall and currently serves as a senator representing her residence hall, Kinsolving, on the Resident Assistant Association. She also leads a small group bible study for Asian American Campus Ministries and sings with her campus ministries’ a cappella group. When she’s not juggling her various roles and commitments, Bernice enjoys exploring downtown Austin, shopping with her fellow RA staff members, reading books on faith and spirituality, learning how to cook and tackling various dessert recipes, and spending quality time with friends.
