When I first arrived at Bass Concert Hall, I immediately saw a line wrapping around the building that looked like a sea of burnt orange. You could feel the excitement in the air as everyone was ushered into the theater. While waiting for the show to begin, they played clips from The Tonight Show, providing lots of laughs for everyone in the theater.

The first guest that Jimmy had on the show was Matthew McConaughey. One of the newest professors at UT-Austin, McConaughey was met with a roar of applause. The “alright, alright, alright” star spoke about how much he loves his home state of Texas, and his pride for UT Austin. Fallon and McConaughey sang “The Eyes of Texas” with the audience to wrap up his appearance.

When Chip and Joanna Gaines entered the theatre they were met with cheers and shouts of “I love you Jo!” from the crowd. Fallon discussed Chip and Joanna’s TV network that is planned to air next October. Joanna confirmed that they plan to have a cooking show on their network, with Chip saying, “If Fallon says Jo should have a cooking show, Jo gets a cooking show!” Before the Fixer Upper couple left the theatre, Chip brought out two cowboy hats and taught Fallon how to two step in true Texas fashion.

To wrap up the show Gucci Mane performed a new song from his latest album after giving a short interview with Fallon. When asked what advice he would give to the room full of students, Gucci Mane replied, “Be mindful of the company that you keep. Keep people around you that are gonna support and encourage you.”

Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I encourage you to watch it to see everything that happened!
