For many years, the political climate in the United States has been the global center of attention. Rivalry between the United States and many other countries has raised tension between the war climate and political engagement in modern society. As the implementation of the media has been incorporated into the political engagement of modern party affiliations, we get to understand the impact it has on elections and campaigns.
The United States began to experience increased signs of party polarization at the beginning of the 1990s. Party polarization is commonly known as the growing division of ideology and policy between two major political groups. The major dominant parties, known as the Democrats and Republicans, came to dominate the U.S. Congress, and society began to experience a shift in what is important to everyday citizens.
As future generations began to dominate certain political shifts, so did the implementation of technology. Political groups understood the importance that technology had in younger generations and the advantage it offered when campaigning across many states. The more the media was implemented into political campaigns, the more it became easier for society to mock and spread misinformation about certain political parties.
With social media becoming a tremendous part of the United States’ political affiliation worldwide, it became easier for many countries to perceive our government as a joke rather than a respectable opponent. Yes, the United States is still seen as a pivotal component to major worldwide actions, but is that really how they are portrayed in the media?
Over the last elections that took place in the U.S. Congress, American society began to analyze the priorities that certain political groups and elected officials were keen on. This not only affected the unity between Americans but raised the doubts that many citizens were already questioning about their government. The extremities and unfairness that certain political groups incorporated into their policy laws became the center of attention with many other populations across the world. Many countries came to mock the United States for the lack of attention and protection it offered its citizens when it came to healthcare and protection. The wealth infiltration and control began to take a huge control in campaigning and elections, so that it became hard to go unnoticed by the media. Famous entrepreneurs and CEO’s such as Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and even Elon Musk became the center of attention when it became known how much they incorporated themselves into American politics and their enormous donations into campaigns.
As American politics became centered around wealth benefits from multiple donors, they lost the focus and importance that belonged to citizens. Party polarization has scarred and heavily impacted the modern outcomes that communities have to face every day across the United States
