The new year is already in motion—but so is the spring semester. The hurried dash between classes, endless studying and working a job to make ends meet can dampen the college experience. However, as a sophomore in her second semester, I was able to find ways to liven up campus life!

Make Collages For Your Room

Whenever I did work in my dorm, I worked at my desk. Except whenever I worked at my desk it was to a blank wall. It felt dull and lifeless. Soon, I plastered pictures of my friends, family and other mementos on the wall. By doing this, I was motivated to finish homework and reminded myself I’ve come a long way with so much left to do.

Make A Study Playlist

Whenever I’m studying, it’s always tough to keep my mind focused. Luckily, Spotify always has my back. After collecting some motivating songs and an aesthetically pleasing profile picture for my playlist, I now have a collection of driven music that will help me to study. I recommend making a playlist to help you stay engaged especially after studying for a long period of time.

Treat Yourself

After having a long day of classes, nothing helps than buying a little treat for yourself. Whether you’re treating yourself to mark an occasion or simply because you deserve a coffee, do it. Also helping yourself to a treat every now and then can help you feel accomplished after working yourself for so long.

Study Routine

Make a little ritual for yourself. Wear something comfy, play some music, get coffee and get that assignment out of the way. Doing this makes me feel productive since I was able to get it done and focus on more important things.

Plan Cute Outfits

Planning your outfit the night before can help in many ways. For one, it makes me feel prepared and ready to start the day. Also, looking nice can leave you with a positive mindset as you go to class and get work done for the day.

Being a college student is a whole new experience for anyone to grasp, but however you handle it, you can do it. Remember to calmly adjust to a new life the way you want and wishing you lots of luck!
