College students are always looking for the next great thing in technology. Well what if you were to learn that the next great thing is an free mobile app that provides real-time information to get you around Austin?
Today only at Café Medici on Guadalupe, from 12-2pm, RideScout, (kind of like Kayak) is going to demonstrate to students how you can find the cheapest and fastest mode of transportation to get you anywhere you want to go! No more wasting money on gas, when the reality is you spend most of your time stalled in Austin stop-and-go traffic. RideScout will connect you to the nearest B-Cycle, Austin Metro, taxi, Car2Go, and other great rideshares!
RideScout, which was founded by former UT professor, Joseph Kopser, isn’t just about getting you on the move, either. It’s about cleaning up some of this Austin traffic (and air!) by getting people out of their cars and into one of the already available busses, bikes, or rideshares scouting your area. It’s an app that promises to clean up our roads, save our environment, and save our time! If you leave campus anywhere between 3-7pm your looking at maybe 30 minutes of just sitting in traffic and wasting your time. And lets not talk about the horrors of finding a parking spot on campus!
